Dr. Stephen Collins - Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer
With a chemistry background, Stephen has 24 years of sales, marketing and general management experience working within the analytical and chemical sensor marketplaces for Philips, Fisons and Neotronics. As Managing Director of Neotronics Scientific Ltd., Stephen has first hand experience of bringing a sensor technology from a university research environment, through development and into the market.
Professor Gianfranco Gilardi FRSC – Co-founder & Chief Scientific Officer
Gianfranco is Reader in Protein Engineering at Imperial College London and Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Torino (Italy). He gained his PhD in Biotechnology at Imperial College London in 1992 and is internationally recognised for his contribution of engineering redox proteins for biosensing applications. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Valerie Marshall, MA, M.Sc. - Non-executive director
Valerie has both a private equity (3i and Scottish Development Agency) and corporate finance background. She was Corporate Finance Director of Greig Middleton, stockbrokers, for 10 years, where she acted as financial advisor to many fully listed companies, several in the life sciences area, and as Nominated Advisor to AIM companies.

Professor Allen Hill, FRS is internationally recognised as an expert in the field of electrochemistry and biosensors. He was an inventor/founder of Medisense who commercialised the first glucose sensor for monitoring diabetes. The company was sold to Abbott Diagnostics for $780m. Professor Hill is also the founder of Oxford BioSensors who are developing testing kits for cardiac markers.
Dr Peter Lockey is a scientific founder and Director of Biochemistry and Screening at Argenta Discovery Ltd. In this role Dr Lockey has first hand knowledge of the P450 testing market and the relative strengths of the current assays. Prior to forming Argenta Dr Lockey spent 12 years at Rhône Poulenc /Aventis UK Ltd developing and managing high throughput screening assays.
