The NanoBioDesign (NBD) Product Offering

The NBD platform consists of two basic components:

The reader: This is the electrochemical recorder consists of a multi-channel potentiostat with acquisition and interpretation software
The array: This is in a 3 electrode, 8 wells format compatible with manual and robotic systems.

The engineered P450s are attached to the gold working electrode at the bottom of each well and this constitutes the consumable sold by NBD.

This technology platform offers a number of significant advantages over the current testing methodologies. These include:

Reproducible performance – derived from the use of engineered P450’s
Reagentless and simple assay – since the P450 is immobilised on the electrode the compound of interest is simply titrated into a buffer solution and the compound turnover is measured. The assay is easy to run and the data is requires a minimum of interpretation reducing FTE costs.
Distinguishes between substrates and inhibitors – the NBD assay measures the direct turnover of a compound allowing substrates to be identified.
High information content data - KM, Ki , IC50 , vmax, intrinsic clearance & inhibitor mechanism can all be measured or calculated using this assay.
Fast assay – time to result is 30 minutes
